Stamping on Envelopes with Judi Kauffman

Hello, everyone!

It's Bibi here today, sharing some cool envelopes by my very good friend and Guest Designer, Judi Kauffman from USA. I met Judi online in 1999 and in person just a few years later. Living on the opposite side of the Atlantic ocean means that we're depended on this awesome invention, the Internet to stay in touch, but we have not forgotten the much older invention - known as snail mail ...

If you are a stamper, you probably send cards to friends all over the world, too (and if you don't, it's never too late to start!). I know your cards are lovely - but how about the envelopes? Do you decorate them? If not,  I have news for you: Only Dull People send Dull Envelopes! - At least that's what one of my new stamps says (to be released soon, along with lots of other fun envelope stamps).

Like me, Judi Kauffman has always loved decorating envelopes (because we're not dull, that's why!). Below are some that star Rubber Dance stamps - a mix of words and images, smudged ink, and colouring.

Judi has used the romantic stamp Love Musical and the sentiment found on the same set, Nostalgic Couples.

Below, Judi has also used a sentiment from the set called Something Wonderful

On the next batch of envelopes, Judi used the adorable Night Cat
and other stamps from the set Celestial Images.

When I asked which pens Judi had used, she said that the colouring was done combining Letraset ProMarkers, Sakura Pigma Micron and Gelly Roll White pens. Here's a close-up:

Thanks, Judi! Who wouldn't LOVE to receive one of these lovely envelopes in the mail?

And now, some of mine ...
If you have ordered stamps from me, you know I love to decorate the envelope in which they are shipped. Sometimes, I'll recycle an old envelope and adhere a decorated piece of cardstock to cover up my own address on the front, other times I grab a new envelope.  Below are some that I recently made, just waiting for orders to be filled. (Meanwhile, I have time to decorate a few more - while watching a few youtube tutorials or perhaps a movie on Netflix ...)

Here's a tip I learnt from DT member Gabriele:
Place a tag or piece of cardstock in the middle (where the name and address will go), and decorate that one as well while you're at it. This way, you'll have a matching tag or card to enclose!

Here's what Gabriele made for a blog post in September:

How cool is that??

Here's another envelope I made not long ago ...
Now, why would I send a thick envelope to the Craft Stamper magazine?
Well, I'd love to tell you - but it's a secret! You'll find out why, sooner or later... ;-)
(I'll be sure to let you know, no worries!)

And finally, a sneak peek of the mail art stamps I have made (image is reduced)
This set of stamps will be released as soon as I receive the mold,
which is on its way from my engraver in the US.

So....... don't be dull, OK? Go out in the world and decorate all the envelopes you can find! :-)
How about decorating one with these happy colours, and enter it to our May challenge?

Have a stamptastic day!

Hugs,
Bibi

Judi's envelopes are fantastic, love the pop of colours on the hats. I don't usually decorate the envelopes (some postal services are a bit picky) but I might test the waters... especially with those fun new stamps! I can't wait for the July (or is it August or even September?) issue of CS....

Love Judi's envelopes esp. the ones with the cat. So fun!! Very nice colouring on all of them! I also love Bibi's envelopes, the dark ones with the golden stamping and the tag look so elegant! Our postal service is sometimes a bit difficult with envelope sizes and decoration.
Love the new stamp sheet! Gorgeous! Thanks for showing my envelopes again!
Hugs ❤️
